Congratulations to all the incredibly talented throwers and venue owners who took home awards this year, at the WATC 2022 Gala.
Recognizing excellence in our sport is important, not only the highest performance achieving athletes, but the venues and individuals that give of themselves without a second thought. Our awards only capture a small fraction of our vast and giving community in that regard.
One thing that we did not do well enough at the Gala is to recognize our youth. We speak a lot about them being the future of our sport, but we did not take the opportunity specifically to recognize them. So we would like to take this moment to do just that.
Our youth represent what axe throwing will be, not just what is. Having them here at worlds, competing as some of the best of the best, proves that axe throwing is not just a flash in the pan and that our future in this sport is bright. Congratulations to all of our youth throwers, and everyone else, look out, they are coming for you!
